EFFLUX

(January – April 2004)

ef⋅flux [ef-luhks] - noun

1. outward flow, as of water.
2. something that flows out; effluence.
3. a passing or lapse of time.
4. a passing away; expiration; ending.

Although the finished film is 1m40s in length (which, at 12fps implies around 1200 drawings), I only drew 150-200 drawings for EFFLUX. I recycled as much as i possibly could, and structured much of it to ensure i could layer the animation in post-production compositing, which saved me a tremendous amount of time. Also, I storyboarded the project thoroughly, and the final result was timed more or less exactly the same as the animatic.

For those of you who are wondering about the credit, for administrative reasons (and general laziness on my part) at Concordia i went by my official first name, Mohammad. :D
